    Hooray For The Knicks!

Well I'm officially making a return to my xanga page. I figure it would help to chronicle the latter part of my 20s since I have turned 26 this past September. Looking at my older posts from my early college years, I find myself lacking the passion and fire that used to burn inside of me. Maybe this is the result of spreading myself too thin over the years. I've come across problems of deciding where I want to be as a Dj and as a promoter. You would think those two go hand in hand and I would like to believe so. However, perfect balance between the two has been difficult to achieve. I used to live my life trying to based on decisions I would not regret. Now I regret a great deal of things because of poor decision making. The hard part for me now is to recover from the injuries I have imposed on myself. I believe this blog well help in the healing process. As I re-assess and reconstitute my being, I have to re-acquaint myself with Love - Love for myself, Love for music, Love for those who care about me, and Love for God who defines Love.
Last Friday, I opened the night at Room Service (I will be opening every Friday there). DJ Yonny formerly of Pulse 87.7 and 105.1 closed the night out. It's been awhile since I've actually spun with a DJ of high caliber in terms of scratching and dropping. I outright felt outclassed. It's definitely harder to scratch at a night club then on your home set, but Yonny just does it like its nothing. It made me realize "Dayum I need to practice." After so many years spinning has gotten redundant, but when I find someone that does something new with something old it changes my opinion. In Yonny's case it really did. The next day I wound up DJing a wedding in Philadelphia. I let it all out. When you're on fire, you're on fire. There's a lot that can be done impromptu, but there's also something better that can be done when its prepared. As a fan of the great Manny Pacquiao, I hope I can catch a second wind and use my God-given talent to propel me forward as DJ. Practice makes perfect and Pacquiao shows us that you need to train hard to stay perfect.
Over the weekend, my status on BB asked my friends if they remembered Peaches & Cream. One of my childhood friends said "I remember that song from sophomore year of High School." I replied saying that the song came out senior year in 2001. He rebuked, "If it was 2001 then the Knicks are winning a championship this year." Peaches & Cream for my friends and I detailed one of the craziest summers of our lives. It was my transition from High School to College that was just that sweet. It's even sweeter that the Knicks are gonna win a championship this year!

  • 25 Now...

Well I've officially hit the midpoint of my twenties. According to previous blog I was trying to do a bunch of different things in less than a month. At least I can cross off two of those things on that list. I went sky diving and that's gonna be my new hobby.  As for Vegas, I spent that money on class. Hopefully it proves its worth. It's been a while since I've written something of worth. You'll definitely be seeing me more often here.

  • 25 things I want to do but might not happen before I turn 25.

Have you ever heard of a Mid-Twenties crisis? Well I think that I'm a prime example of it. Before I turn 25 there's a few things I need to do.

    1. Go Sky-diving (Labor day weekend maybe?)
    2. Get a Motorcycle (I have a permit)
    3. Learn how to swim without drowning. (I need to get lessons)
    4. Go to Vegas. (Larry supposedly bought the tickets already)
    5. Be a tourist for once and visit the Statue of Liberty
    6. Be a tourist for a second time and visit the top of the Empire State Building
    7. Take up another hobby like drumming or music production.
    8. Think up of 17 more things to do before I turn 25.

Maybe I'll write 25 blogs before I turn 25. Who knows what the future may bring. I just hope that when I wake up tomorrow I'm not going to be 35.
